The present study was a quasi-experimental design of 40 elderly people in Karaj nursing home from all elderly people in Karaj who were staying in a nursing home in autumn and winter of 1399, selected by random sampling method in two groups of emotional self-control skills training and control group Were located. Using a pre-test-post-test experimental design with a control group, the experimental group was trained in emotional self-control skills training in 8 sessions of 1 to 1.5 hours, while the control group did not intervene during this period. Did not receive. Both groups were assessed in pre-test and post-test using the CSWS self-assessment questionnaire by Crocker et al. (2003) and the Connor-Davidson resilience scale (2003) and the results were analyzed using multivariate analysis of covariance. The results showed that the training of emotional self-control skills had an effect on increasing the resilience of the elderly in Karaj. Considering the ETA square, it can be said that 85.7% of these changes were due to the effect of intervention or training of emotional self-control skills.
